Côn Đảo welcomes both Vietnamese and international travellers. Cruise ships such as Le Lapérouse, Resorts World One and Le Jacques Cartier have called at the islands, while visitors travelling independently can explore historic sites, coastal scenery and protected natural areas.

Can international visitors travel to Côn Đảo?
Yes, provided they meet the entry, visa, residence and other applicable requirements. Bring a valid passport or accepted travel document and any necessary visa. Accommodation providers may need your details for registration. Restricted zones, conservation areas and smaller islands have their own access rules. An exception to certain coastal-border permission requirements should not be read as unrestricted access to every part of the islands.
Examples of international cruise visits

- 1 October 2022: French ship Le Lapérouse arrived with 89 international passengers.
- 11 November 2022: Le Lapérouse returned with 100 passengers and 118 crew, during the local Phi Yến memorial period.
- 2 June 2024: Resorts World One called with approximately 2,200 international visitors.
- 18 December 2024: Le Lapérouse brought more than 110 passengers for historical and nature excursions.
- 10 February 2026: Ponant’s Le Jacques Cartier visited with over 100 international travellers, using tender boats for the transfer to Bến Đầm.
These are historical cruise visits, not future bookable departures. Large cruise ships may anchor offshore and transfer passengers to the port by tender; do not assume every ship docks directly at the quay.
Arriving by plane, fast ferry or helicopter
By air
Flights: check Côn Đảo Airport (VCS), current airlines, connections, baggage and international transfer times. A ticket to Côn Đảo does not necessarily mean a nonstop flight from your departure city.

By fast ferry
Fast ferries: Trần Đề–Côn Đảo has been described with indicative journey times of approximately 2 hours 15–30 minutes depending on the ship and operating conditions. Services from Vũng Tàu and Ho Chi Minh City require date-specific checks. Verify the exact departure and arrival ports, passenger names and passport numbers before payment, and leave time for weather-related changes.

By helicopter
Helicopters: Vũng Tàu–Côn Đảo may be considered as another travel option; departure dates, seats, aircraft, baggage and fares all require confirmation. Ferry and helicopter legs can be combined if both bookings fit.
Where to stay on Côn Đảo
Accommodation ranges from seaside resorts to central hotels and smaller guesthouses. Six Senses Côn Đảo at Bãi Đất Dốc is listed as a five-star resort. The Secret Côn Đảo and Marina Bay Côn Đảo Hotel have been listed among four-star properties. Compare location, room type, transport, cancellation conditions and whether your accommodation can assist with registration for international visitors.
Plan a flexible island holiday
Confirm transportation in both directions before booking non-refundable activities. For nature tours, small-island visits, diving, hiking and turtle experiences, verify conservation rules with the operator. Leave reasonable time between ferries, flights and hotel transfers. Information reviewed on 4 November 2026; schedules, entry rules and accommodation details may change.
